Professional diploma summer school creates beautiful new sanctuary and walkway

From the 26th July – 5th August, CAT Professional Diploma students embarked on the construction of a sanctuary and walkway next to the WISE building as part of their summer school project. The sanctuary can be seen on the CAT visitors centre site.
The sanctuary and walkway were entirely designed and built by CAT students. The video above shows a timelapse of the construction of the sanctuary. Below are some photos and a sample of the drawings from the project.
All of the wood for the structure was sourced from within 5 miles of the site.
The architecture students at CAT design and build some kind of structure every year. Last year they built a bird hide that was shortlisted for an award by the Architects Journal.
